Mayank Yadav Bowling
Fast bowling sensation Mayank Yadav grabbed eyeballs with his second consecutive match-winning spell on Tuesday and is hoping his impressive IPL debut will earn him a place in the Indian team. With two consecutive Player of the Match performances in his debut season, the 21-year-old has become the biggest revelation of the season. But for Mayank, IPL is just a medium.
It feels great to get two Player of the Match awards in two matches. I am happy that we won both the matches. My goal is to play for the country. I think this is just the beginning. I liked the wicket of Cameron Green the most,” Mayank said after LSG’s win over RCB.

His three wickets included Green, Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar. Mayank missed the last season due to injury and he knows the importance of fitness well.
“There are many factors to bowl fast – diet, sleep, training. I am focusing a lot on my diet and recovery – ice bath,” he said.
LSG skipper KL Rahul couldn’t be happier with the performance of Mayank, who is showcasing a great temperament along with his blistering pace.
After troubling Punjab Kings batsmen with pace on his IPL debut, the 21-year-old gave the RCB batsmen similar treatment and finished with his second consecutive three-wicket haul.
Rahul is finding it a bit difficult to keep Mayank but he is not complaining.
“One ball hit me really hard, it was great to see Mayank bowling like that. He has waited for a year, put in a lot of hard work, he is very professional, his temperament is great,” Rahul said in the post-match presentation. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also gave Mayank due credit.
“It’s a new action that you have not seen before, and if he has pace, it takes time for you to adjust to it. But his ability to control length and accuracy is impressive.
“You need two guys who can carry the innings and build partnerships, which we haven’t been able to do. We need strong characters in the dressing room who put their hand up,” du Plessis said after RCB’s third defeat in four games.
